How to build a capsule wardrobe
First it’s time to pull out your entire wardrobe and give it that refresh you’ve been putting off for so long! Including your shoes and jewellery. You will need to categorise each piece into the 4 categories below:
- Must-keep: A piece that you would wear tomorrow, or one that you constantly reach for and happy to continue wearing.
- Maybe: This is for the i don’t know’s. Pile them up and keep them to one side. If you go to reach for them throughout the summer then you put them back in the wardrobe. However, if you forget about them entirely its time to bag them up and donate.
- Simply no: If it doesn’t fit anymore, or it’s something you couldn’t see yourself wearing this year – add to the donate pile.
- Swap out the season: If you haven’t done so already it’s time to swap over to your summer wardrobe. There’s no need to keep you chunky turtlenecks and scarves in easy to reach places. Bag them up and store in a safe place for next autumn/winter.
